The former account I have made, O Theophilos, of all that Yahusha began both to do and teach,
Until the day in which he was taken up, after that he through the rûach Qôdesh had given commandments to the apostolos whom he had chosen:
To whom also he showed himself alive after his suffering by many infallible proofs, being seen of them forty days, and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of Êlôhîym:
And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Yarûshâlaim, but wait for the promise of the father, which, he said, you have heard of me.
For Yôchânân truly baptized with water; but you shall be baptized with the rûach Qôdesh not many days from now.
Therefore when they came together, they asked of him, saying, Âdônây, will you at this time restore again the kingdom to Yâshârêl?
And he said to them, it is not for you to know the times or the occasions, which the father has put in his own power.
But you shall receive power, after the rûach Qôdesh has come on you: and you shall be witnesses to me both in Yarûshâlaim, and in all Yahûdâh, and in Shômerôn, and to the end of the earth.
And when he had spoken these things, while they were looking at him, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight.
And while they gazed intently toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white clothes;
Who also said, you men of Gâlı̂yl, why do you stand gazing up into heaven? This same Yahusha, who is taken up from you into heaven, shall come in the same way as you have seen him go into heaven.
Then they returned to Yarûshâlaim from the mount called Eleon, which is from Yarûshâlaim a Shabbâth day's journey.
And when they came in, they went up into an upper room, where stayed both Kêph, and Yaăqôb, and Yôchânân, and Andreas, Philippos, and Tâôm, Bar Talmay, and Mattithyâhû, Yaăqôb the son of Cheleph, and Shimôn Zylōtis, and Yahûdâh the brother of Yaăqôb.
These all continued unanimously in prayer and supplication, with the women, and Miryâm the mother of Yahusha, and with his brothers.
And in those days Kêph stood up in the middle of the disciples, and said, (the number of names together were about a hundred and twenty,)
Men and brothers, this scripture must have been fulfilled, which the rûach Qôdesh by the mouth of Dâwid spoke before concerning Yahûdâh, who was guide to them that took Yahusha.
For he was numbered with us, and had obtained part of this ministry.
Now this man purchased a field with the reward of iniquity; and falling headlong, he burst in the middle, and all his bowels gushed out.
And it was known to all the habitants at Yarûshâlaim; so as that field is called in their proper dialektos, Chêleq dâm, that is to say, the field of blood.
For it is written in the book of Tehīllīm, let his habitation be desolate, and let no man dwell there: and his position as visitation let another take.
Why of these men who have companied with us all the time that Âdônây Yahusha went in and out among us,
Beginning from the baptism of Yôchânân, to that same day that he was taken up from us, must one be ordained to be a witness with us of his resurrection.
And they appointed two, Yôsêph called Bar tsebâ, who was surnamed Ioustos, and Mattithyâhû.
And they prayed, and said, you, Âdônây, who knows the hearts of all men, show which of these two you have chosen,
That he may take part of this ministry and apostoli, from which Yahûdâh by transgression fell, that he might go to his own place.
And they gave forth their parts; and the part fell on Mattithyâhû; and he was numbered with the eleven apostolos.
