Therefore putting away all wickedness, and all trick, and hypocrisies, and jealousy, and all defamation,
As newborn babes, intensely crave possession of the sincere milk of the word that you may grow thereby:
If perhaps you have tasted that Âdônây is gracious.
To whom coming, as unto a living stone, repudiated indeed of men, but chosen of Êlôhîym, and precious,
You also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, a sacred kehûnnâh, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to Êlôhîym by Yahusha Mâshı̂yach.
Therefore also it is contained in the scripture, behold, I lay in Tsı̂yôn a chief corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believes in him shall not be confounded.
Unto you therefore who believe he is precious: but unto them who are disobedient, the stone which the builders rejected, the same is made the head of the corner,
And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offence, even to them who stumble at the word, being disobedient: where they were also appointed.
But you are a chosen generation, a royal kehûnnâh, a sacred nation, an acquired people; that you should show forth the praises of him who has called you out of darkness into his marvellous light;
Who in the past were not a people, but are now the people of Êlôhîym: who had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.
Beloved, I exhort you as alien resident and resident foreigners, abstain from fleshly lusts that war against the soul;
Having your conversation honest among the Gentiles: that, where as they speak against you as criminals, they may by your good works, that they shall behold, glorify Êlôhîym in the day of visitation.
mit yourselves to every ordinance of man for Âdônây's sake: whether it is to the king, as supreme;
Or unto governors, as unto them that are sent by him for the punishment of criminals, and for the praise of them that do well.
For so is the will of Êlôhîym, that with well doing you may put to silence the ignorance of foolish men:
As free, and not using your freedom for a pretext of wickedness, but as the slaves of Êlôhîym.
Honour all men. Love the brotherhood. Fear Êlôhîym. Honour the king.
Servants, be subject to your masters with all fear; not only to the good and gentle, but also to the crooked.
For this is graciousness, if a man for conscience toward Êlôhîym endure grief, suffering wrongfully.
For what glory is it, if, when you are buffeted for your faults, you shall take it patiently? But if, when you do well, and suffer for it, you take it patiently, this is acceptable with Êlôhîym.
For even here you were called: because Mâshı̂yach also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that you should follow his steps:
Who did no sin, neither was trick found in his mouth:
Who, when he was reproached, he did not rail again; when he suffered, he did not threaten; but committed himself to him that judges righteously:
Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes you were healed.
For you were as sheep going astray; but are now returned unto the Shepherd and superintendent of your souls.
