And Yôshı̂yâhû held the feast of the Pesach in Yarûshâlaim unto his Yahuah, and offered the Pesach the fourteenth day of the first month;
Having set the Kôhên according to their daily courses, being arrayed in long garments, in the temple of Yahuah.
And he spoke unto the Lêwı̂y, the qâdôsh ministers of Yâshârêl that they should hallow themselves unto Yahuah, to set the qâdôsh ark of Yahuah in the house that king Shelômôh the son of Dâwid had built:
And said, you shall no more bear the ark upon your shoulders: Now therefore serve Yahuah your Êlôhîym, and minister unto his people Yâshârêl, and prepare you after your families and kindreds,
According as Dâwid the king of Yâshârêl prescribed, and according to the magnificence of Shelômôh his son: And standing in the temple according to the several dignity of the families of you the Lêwı̂y, who minister in the presence of your brethren the children of Yâshârêl,
Offer the Pesach in order, and make ready the sacrifices for your brethren, and keep the Pesach according to the commandment of Yahuah, which was given unto Môsheh.
And unto the people that was found there Yôshı̂yâhû gave thirty thousand lambs and kids, and three thousand calves: These things were given of the king's allowance, according as he promised, to the people, to the Kôhên, and to the Lêwı̂y.
And Chilqı̂yâhû (חִלְקִיָּהוּ), Zekaryâhû (זְכַרְיָה), and Yachı̂yêl (יְחִיאֵל), the governors of the temple, gave to the Kôhên for the Pesach two thousand and six hundred sheep, and three hundred calves.
And Yakonyâhû (יְכָנְיָהו), and Shemayâhû (שְׁמַעְיָהוּ), and Nethanêl (נְתַנְאֵל) his brother, and Chăshabyâhû (חֲשַׁבְיָהו), and Ochiel, and Yôrâm, captains over thousands, gave to the Lêwı̂y for the Pesach five thousand sheep, and seven hundred calves.
And when these things were done, the Kôhên and Lêwı̂y, having the unleavened bread, stood in very comely order according to the kindreds,
And according to the several dignities of the fathers, before the people, to offer to Yahuah, as it is written in the book of Môsheh: And thus they did in the morning.
And they roasted the Pesach with fire, as appertains: As for the sacrifices, they sod them in brass pots and pans with a good savor,
And set them before all the people: And afterward they prepared for themselves, and for the Kôhên their brethren, the sons of Ahărôn.
For the Kôhên offered the fat until night: And the Lêwı̂y prepared for themselves, and the Kôhên their brethren, the sons of Ahărôn.
The qâdôsh singers also, the sons of Âsâph, were in their order, according to the appointment of Dâwid, to wit, Âsâph, Zekaryâhû, and Yadûthûn (יְדוּתוּן), who was of the king's retinue.
Moreover the porters were at every gate; it was not lawful for any to go from his ordinary service: For their brethren the Lêwı̂y prepared for them.
Thus were the things that belonged to the sacrifices of Yahuah accomplished in that day, that they might hold the Pesach,
And offer sacrifices upon the altar of Yahuah, according to the commandment of king Yôshı̂yâhû.
So the children of Yâshârêl which were present held the Pesach at that time, and the feast of Unleavened Bread seven days.
And such a Pesach was not kept in Yâshârêl since the time of the Nâbı̂y Shemûêl.
Yea, all the kings of Yâshârêl did not hold such a Pesach as Yôshı̂yâhû, and the Kôhên, and the Lêwı̂y, and the Yahûdı̂y (יְהוּדִי), held with all Yâshârêl that were found dwelling at Yarûshâlaim.
In the eighteenth year of the reign of Yôshı̂yâhû was this Pesach kept.
And the works of Yôshı̂yâhû were upright before his Yahuah with a heart full of godliness.
As for the things that came to pass in his time, they were written in former times, concerning those that sinned, and did wickedly against Yahuah above all people and kingdoms, and how they grieved him exceedingly, so that the words of Yahuah rose up against Yâshârêl.
Now after all these acts of Yôshı̂yâhû it came to pass, that Parôh the king of Mitsrayim came to raise war at Karkemı̂ysh (כַּרְכְּמִישׁ) upon Perâth: And Yôshı̂yâhû went out against him.
But the king of Mitsrayim sent to him, saying, what I have to do with you, O king of Yahûdâh (יְהוּדָה)?
I am not sent out from Yahuah Êlôhîym against you; for my war is upon Perâth: And now Yahuah is with me, yea, Yahuah is with me hasting me forward: Depart from me, and do not be against Yahuah.
Howbeit Yôshı̂yâhû did not turn back his chariot from him, but undertook to fight with him, not regarding the words of the Nâbı̂y Yirmeyâhû (יִרְמְיָהוּ) spoken by the mouth of Yahuah:
But joined battle with him in the plain of Megiddôn, and the princes came against king Yôshı̂yâhû.
Then the king said unto his servants, carry me away out of the battle; for I am very weak. And immediately his servants took him away out of the battle.
Then he got up upon his second chariot; and being brought back to Yarûshâlaim died, and was buried in his father's sepulcher.
And in all Yahûdâh they mourned for Yôshı̂yâhû, yea, Yirmeyâhû the Nâbı̂y lamented for Yôshı̂yâhû, and the chief men with the women made lamentation for him unto this day: And this was given out for an ordinance to be done continually in all the nation of Yâshârêl.
These things are written in the book of the stories of the kings of Yahûdâh, and every one of the acts that Yôshı̂yâhû did, and his glory, and his understanding in the law of Yahuah, and the things that he had done before, and the things now recited, are reported in the book of the kings of Yâshârêl and Yahûdâh.
And the people took Yahôâchâz the son of Yôshı̂yâhû, and made him king instead of Yôshı̂yâhû his father, when he was twenty and three years old.
And he reigned in Yahûdâh and in Yarûshâlaim three months: And then the king of Mitsrayim deposed him from reigning in Yarûshâlaim.
And he set a tax upon the land of a hundred talents of silver and one talent of gold.
The king of Mitsrayim also made king Yahôyâqı̂ym (יְהוֹיָקִים) his brother king of Yahûdâh and Yarûshâlaim.
And he bound Yahôyâqı̂ym and the nobles: But Zarius his brother he apprehended, and brought him out of Mitsrayim.
Five and twenty years old was Yahôyâqı̂ym when he was made king in the land of Yahûdâh and Yarûshâlaim; and he did evil before Yahuah.
Wherefore against him Nebûkkadnetstsar (נְבוּכַדְנֶצַּר) the king of Bâbel came up, and bound him with a chain of brass, and carried him into Bâbel.
Nebûkkadnetstsar also took of the qâdôsh vessels of Yahuah, and carried them away, and set them in his own temple at Bâbel.
But those things that are recorded of him, and of his uncleanness and impiety, are written in the chronicles of the kings.
And Yahôyâqı̂ym his son reigned in his stead: He was made king being eighteen years old;
And reigned but three months and ten days in Yarûshâlaim; and did evil before Yahuah.
So after a year Nebûkkadnetstsar sent and caused him to be brought into Bâbel with the qâdôsh vessels of Yahuah;
And made Tsidqı̂yâhû king of Yahûdâh and Yarûshâlaim, when he was one and twenty years old; and he reigned eleven years:
And he did evil also in the sight of Yahuah, and did not care for the words that were spoken unto him by the Nâbı̂y Yirmeyâhû from the mouth of Yahuah.
And after that king Nebûkkadnetstsar had made him to swear by the name of Yahuah, he forswore himself, and rebelled; and hardening his neck, his heart, he transgressed the laws of Yahuah Êlôhîym of Yâshârêl.
The governors also of the people and of the Kôhên did many things against the laws, and passed all the pollutions of all nations, and defiled the temple of Yahuah, which was sanctified in Yarûshâlaim.
Nevertheless the Êlôhîym of their fathers sent by his messenger to call them back, because he spared them and his tabernacle also.
But they had his messengers in derision; and, look, when Yahuah spoke unto them, they made a sport of his Nâbı̂y:
So far forth, that he, being wroth with his people for their great ungodliness, commanded the kings of the Kaśdı̂y to come up against them;
Who slew their young men with the sword, yea, even within the compass of their qâdôsh temple, and spared neither young man nor maid, old man nor child, among them; for he delivered all into their hands.
And they took all the qâdôsh vessels of Yahuah, both great and small, with the vessels of the ark of Êlôhîym, and the king's treasures, and carried them away into Bâbel.
As for the house of Yahuah, they burnt it, and broke down the walls of Yarûshâlaim, and set fire upon her towers:
And as for her glorious things, they never ceased till they had consumed and brought them all to nothing: And the people that were not slain with the sword he carried unto Bâbel:
Who became servants to him and his children, till the Pâras (פָּרַס) reigned, to fulfil the word of Yahuah spoken by the mouth of Yirmeyâhû:
Until the land had enjoyed her Shabbâth, the whole time of her desolation she shall rest, until the full term of seventy years.
